The Positive and the Negative
Of course we have our wars and our violent crimes, and our crime T.V. shows, but we also have our Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have our parties, get out, get into, and get it in.
We the believers in the good not bad
the bad bad that is good
the bad bad not good.
We believe in freedom.
We believe in law.
We do believe somethings must be stopped.
We believe somethings should go on forever.
Trauma, life, blues, joy, pain, and sadness.
We all swim through it.
Some of us float,
Some of us go down deep.
Some of the people who are mad are really mad.
Some of the mad people are mad cuz they positive.
Some people are mad publicly because they can't be positive.
There's something very positive about Making America Great Again.
Many of you will deny that. But I don't doubt it.
Or maybe better put, I saw a football player on a the cover of a fashion magazine as citizen of the year. I mean its positive, but there is some negative in the folds of it.
You could even say, the negative is working positive for him.
It be like that sometimes.
Maybe we want our negative to be positive.
Confession: I have traded in that.
And then again, some of the forms of patriotism and nationalism are ways that we want our positive to be negative. I mean they are about people coming together, but there are also other people we don't want to get in.
And some of our resist , fight the power, and stop that stop, stand up and be counted is some straight up negative under the guise of positive.
Who am I to know what is really happening in the world.
We often define ourselves by knowing clearly who we are not. James Baldwin said something about niggers that had something to do with that.
The smart know above all else that they are not dumb.
The crafty know what craft is not, maybe better than what craft is.
The calm and peaceful have perfected calm and peaceful so that they better isolate rage. So that they can see it and call it out.
The intelligent know the important errors.
Without the errors who would know how intelligent they were and what they knew.
Much of much of everything is folly.
Best not to take it to seriously.
